Samskrita Bharati

Samskrita Bharati is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization working to bring Samskritam back into daily life through the 'Speak Samskritam' movement. We have our head quarters in New Delhi, India. Our international center is Aksharam, in Bangalore, India, housing a research wing, a library, an audio-visual lab, and staff quarters. The North American chapter is also tax-exempt, with its national head quarters in San Jose, California.

We function as an umbrella organization for various other organizations working for the promotion of Samskritam.

The Speak Samskritam movement took off in 1981. The main thrust was to make Samskritam a conversational language and to bring about a social change through the medium of spoken Samskritam.

Samskrita Bharati was constituted at New Delhi, India in 1995 as a national level organization.
